You can probably tell that I love to make things out of paper, glitter, and glue! Often I make miniature paper houses. I've been making the little houses for the last 4 years. These paper houses are also called glitter houses or Putz houses and are based on the vintage Japanese houses that were most popular in the 1930s. But I also love to make mixed media projects as well. I am usually found in my crafting room with ink-stained fingers and glue blobs everywhere. And there’s always a little cat hair mixed in as well.
I rode a bike tour in 2016. I was on the road for over two months and I did miss my crafting, but it was an incredible trip.
What inspired my crafting journey?
What inspired this crafting journey (not my bike trip)? I remember seeing the little Putz Houses in an issue of Martha Stewart magazine many years ago and I said to myself, "I am going to make those little houses one day. Have you ever been so impressed with something that you just had to try to do it yourself? Well, that happened to me. I was so struck by these beautiful little houses that I knew I needed to make some. And then I couldn't stop! I kept getting idea after idea that compelled me to make even more houses. My ideas spread like ripples in a pool and expanded into mixed media projects as well. Crazy? I don't think so. I call it inspired. And maybe even a transformation.
I have a pretty intense career and this has given me a great outlet and perhaps, some would say, therapy. My friends and colleagues say I'm also a great teacher. This may be the best of both of those worlds.

And what do I hope you find here?
Great paper crafts. My primary goal is always to share great paper craft projects (particularly 3-D paper crafts) and show you how to make them. My hope is that it will inspire your own creative journey and maybe have you making your own ripples in the crafting pool.
