Hello. I am Lucy and I love to make things out of paper and cardboard. Mostly I make little houses which are also called glitter houses or Putz houses based on the vintage Japanese houses that were most popular in the 1930s. But I also love to make mixed media projects as well. I am usually found in my crafting room wearing ink-stained fingers and glue blobs everywhere. There’s a little cat hair mixed in as well.
What inspired this journey? I remember seeing the little Putz Houses in an issue of Martha Stewart magazine many years ago and I said to myself that I am going to make little houses one day. That’s kind of a funny resolution to make, but it means that I was so struck by these beautiful little houses that I knew I needed to make some. What I did not know was that when I started making them, that I would go crazy and get idea after idea that compelled me to make more and more little houses.
Then these ideas spread kind of like ripples in a pool and expanded into mixed media projects as well.
What do I want to achieve with this blog? Well, mostly I want to share these projects and how to make them with the hopes that it will inspire your own creative journey and make your crafting a easier and more fun.
