Cuckoo Clock Cardboard House - Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I have had plans to make a cuckoo clock out of cardboard for a long time. This one does not work, however, but I think I can make one with a clock mechanism. I will have to look into that.

I am entering this one in the Simon Says Stamp Monday blog challenge under Home Decor. I think the clock counts as Home Decor, don't you? The challenge is supposed to have Prima flowers in it, but I just don't have any. I will have to rectify that when I go to the craft store again.

I made a simple house 4" wide, 6" tall and 1" deep. No windows here. The window where the bird goes is just a dark semicircle. The "clock" is a Tim Holtz clock die and the animals are from a Stampendous set. I didn't have the dies to cut them out so I had to fussy cut them.

The trees are from 2 different dies - one is a Sizzix Christmas tree and the other is a Hampton Art tree. I cut out several layers of each and glued them together and then painted them. The biggest challenge by far was making the pine cone thingies that hang down from the house. I must have painted them over about 5 times. They are attached to a gold chain with 2 jump rings. The chain is threaded through the bottom and the back of the house.

Here's a better close up of the house itself.

Well, that is it for today. Next up is a mixed media project that I have been planning for quite awhile as well. It's going to be cool.

This is SO creative! It reminds me of the clock my grandfather used to have. Love the little animals too. Thank you so much for playing along with us over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog this week 🙂
