Create the Bride of Frankenstein dancing figure for your Halloween decor. This festive project features a serious-looking Frankie's Bride made from cardstock with accordion-folded arms and legs that jiggle and sway with movement.
This design is partially inspired by vintage holiday wall hanging die cuts, but also from the classic movie called the Bride of Frankenstein starring Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester. Her exotic look is perfect for a dancing figure.
This playful decoration is perfect for adding a surprisingly fun item to your Halloween decor. Follow my step-by-step instructions and use the free cut files to bring your own Dancing Bride to life. She's design no. 198 in the free Paper Glitter Glue library.

Cut out all the pieces for the Bride
For this project, I used 4 different colors:
- Cream color for the Bride's skin color though a light grey would work well
- White for the main body, arms and legs, the face background, and bandages on the hands
- Grey for the back of the hair piece
- Black for the hair and background of the face
The only score lines are on the arm and leg pieces. Be sure to select the these lines, choose score under the operations menu, and then attach the score lines to the arm and leg pieces they belong to.
Glue the layers of the face together
The Bride's face is easy to make. Simply layer the pieces in this order - black in the back, white in the middle, and cream on the top.
Assemble the towering hair for Frankie's Bride
For the hair, glue the black cutout to the background black piece.
Glue the face to the main body
Next, glue the face to the main body. Be sure to line up the edges of the face just above the neck on the body piece.
Place the hair on the background main body around the face
Now adhere the hair on the background piece and the face.
Glue the bandages to the hands
In the Bride of Frankenstein movie, the bride's arms were wrapped with bandages. Since that would be very challenging to do on the according folded arms, I only included a set of bandages for her hands. Also remember you need a right and left hand so pay attention to the orientation of the hands.
Accordion fold the arms and legs
Fold along the score lines on the arms and legs.
Adhere the hands and the shoes to the accordion folded legs and arms
When you glue the hands to the arms, make sure you place the right and left hand correctly. The shoes are usually easier to figure out so you have a right foot and a left foot.
Glue the arms to the body of the Bride of Frankenstein
To glue the arms to the body of the bride, pay attention to the right and leg sides. The sloped top of the arms should match up to the shoulders of the body piece.
Glue the legs to the bottom of the bride's dress
Adhere the legs to the lower edge of the Bride's dress.
Glue the tab to the back of the head
I like to glue a tab on the back of the head so you can hang your little dancing figure.
