Official 2025 Contest Submissions
We continue to be astounded by the creativity you all show! Such imagination! Such skill in bringing these creations to life! By all means share your appreciation with the creators. Take inspiration from them, and be considering your votes for when the contest ends! Keep in mind that the Table of Contents lets you click the house name and go straight to a submission, or, of course, scrolling works! All of the houses are so worth seeing, sharing and savoring.
1. Melanie - Ghost Ship Curse

Every contest there is an entry wildly outside of what we imagined receiving as contest submissions, but this beautiful ship by Melanie is a level beyond! Look at the rich colors! You can almost feel the wind filling the sails! Applause, Melanie!
2. Cheryl - Villa de Spirito

Never let it be said that pastel colors can't work beautifully for Halloween! Have you ever seen a cooler house and ensemble than this one by Cheryl? And don't forget the impressive clouds in the background! What a scene!
3. Helle - Old Mortar and Thistle Apothecary

Helle submitted several shots of this delightful apothecary, but we picked this one because of how wonderfully the lights set it off. Who could resist shopping here for their potions and spells?
4. Dominica - Vulture Gulch Mercantile

Domenica has created a virtual world with her spooky submissions. This one shows the Vulture Gulch mercantile by itself, So many great features with he cats and the pumpkins, but I love the bags! Mercantile-esque!
5. Melanie - Goody Box Candy Box

Melanie's colors are matched by the delicious off-camber cant of this lovely house, with its witch and trees and pumpkins. Is she using the roof as a desk? Why not!
6. Judy - Corner of Moonshadow Glen and Hallowmere

So often we are impressed by textures in creations, but Judy's incredible submission takes that to a different level. Even the mailbox is delightfully textured! What exceptional colors and concept!
7. Edel - Sinister Rock

Sometimes we will see creative submissions (never in this group!) where we want to ask, why did the creator name this 'Sinister Rock?' I think everyone can see how aptly named Edel's submission is! Sinister, indeed!
8. Karen W - Three Pines Caravan Park

I always liked small, cozy trailers, but Karen's trailers would be way too spooky for me! Nope, not going in there!
9. Lina - Colorful Boo Haunted-House

Where many of these submissions are spooky and scary, Lina's little house seems to convey a sense of play and exuberance for the season and the holiday! That is a welcoming house and skeleton!
10. Mumball - Spooky Halloween Trailer Caravan

We tried to capture Mumball's lovely trailers so that both sides could be seen. They are just so much fun! Mumble did a great job with them!
11. Domenica - Spooky House in Vulture Gulch

Domenica has created a village with different features. This house is one, with its ghosts, distressed features and the very scary cemetery!
12. Cheryl - Gus's Polka Dot Place

You know a place is scary when even the ghosts themselves seemed scared! Best wishes for your terrified ghosts, Cheryl, in this beautiful Halloween scene!
13. Karen W - Bodie Ghost Town

You know a saloon is ominous when a vulture sits atop it! But Karen has created an entire little world here, full of Halloween ghosts in their own habitat. Incredible. What a great windmill, too.
14. Judy - 1313 Skully Street

Before the PaperGlitterGlue Halloween contests it was hard to think Halloween houses as 'cool,' but not with houses like this scary one by Judy! Only, how did they decide to name the street Skully? 😉 Take some time to savor this beautiful creation.
15. Allison - Fly On Inn

Welcome, witchy sisters, to this magical Halloween Inn from Allison. How about a nice bowl of eye of newt soup? Park yer broom right over yonder!
16. Domenica - Mini Shasta Trailers @ Vulture Gulch

Domenica's delightful Halloween trailers have bat wings! The attention to detail inside the trailers is captivating. Vulture Gulch is the place for me at Halloween!
17. Cheryl - Autumn Farms

Cheryl has given us a wonderful farm scene this autumn, featuring this beautiful barn, with tractor as a lovely a selection of pumpkins as have yet appeared in this contest.
18. Marsha - The Eek Estate

Beware! Turn back, Marsha cautions! Oh I am so there! Placing the ensemble on a slice of wood is a great choice to show this off!
19. Cathy - The Witch's Mansion

Oh there are spider webs on there! So scary! Don't these colors work exceptionally well together! Great job, Cathy!
20. Kay - Gus the Ghost House

This house by Kay is a joyous scene. Have you ever seen a happier ghost? To be behind three such lovely pumpkins! The colors and the distressing on the walls are magical.
21. Melanie - The Casket Shop of the Murphy

Casketography has arrived! What a creative abode! (No not going in there!) We also love the fence an the crow and the bats and the trees, just wow!
22. Jodie - The Scare-sino

My wager is that I would pick a different location from Jodie's spooky Scare-sino for gambling! So many thoughtful and creative features! That tree on the left has a terrifying face, what?! And have you ever seen a more gymnastic skeleton than the one swinging from the broom?
23. Lynette - Gus's Ghost House

So many cool things to Lynette's Gus Ghost House. The chimneys are beautiful, the roof shingles, the crackling in the pain, amazing. And the delightful ghost in front!
24. Kay - The Fall Holiday Cottage

They say you can't use too many bold colors, but it's inspiring when someone tries! Look at how well the purples and tree and leaf colors work in Kay's beautiful site! It's beautiful.
25. Bake - My Haunted Village

I love this little house with its richness of visual features. The cat in the front is so ominous, along with the wolf creatures! Please someone save the witch in the cauldron!
26. Lina - Haunted Halloween House

You know a house is well loved when the ghosts and goblins surround it to celebrate its presence! The pumpkin, the ghosts and the skeletons really work well here, Lina! Thank you!
27. Helle - Neverest Church and Boneyard

Helle's beautiful church and boneyard almost look like an island of Halloween joy in the middle of an ocean! To me the colors just jump off the screen! Great job!
28. Kay - Halloween Village

Every contest at least one person astounds us with a complete village of creative inspiration. This masterpiece from Kay is knock-your-eyes-out awesome! That village represents many hours of serious and thoughtful work. We are the beneficiaries, Kay. Thank you.
29. Debbie - The Witch Cottage

While we are on the subject of unique formats, check out this brilliant explosion box from Debbie! This ensemble is full of creative brilliance and joy.
30. Mumball - Maison du Sortilege

Have you noticed how much scarier the French-sounding creations are?! Madness! This is a beautiful house, Mumball.
31. Helle - Moira Mansion

Helle's Moira Mansion speaks of great talent with little houses, The textures of the brick contrast so well with the textures of the house, and that's without considering the brilliant color! You made magic, Helle, truly.
32. Bev - Creepy Manor

We have seen quite a few manors posted online and in these contests, but Bev's Creepy Manor takes the prize for creepiness! Every creature makes the case, as does even the spooky tree.
33. Joyce - Apothecary Shop

Joyce's beautiful submission highlights at least two contest opportunities: broad and complete scenes, and detailed descriptions of what is being displayed. We're not going to include all of the information here, but the description alone describes the magic of this wonder. Well worth the read! And look at the juiciness in the cauldron!
34. Donna - Deadwood Hollow

Donna's magnificent Deadwood Hollow village, population 0, has more than four structures worthy of being entered as solo entries to this contest. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful or magical scene. Her post also includes an excellent story, with colorful descriptions of some of the now deceased patrons.
35. Mumball - Maison des Chauves-Souris

Centuries of stories in this house, and the bats remember them all, Mumball says! I can believe it!
36. Shannon - Trick or Treat Lane

Apple bobbing, pinning a bowtie on Mr. Bones ... endless and delightful activities at Trick or Treat Lane! Thank you for inviting us along, Shannon!
37. Kathy - Haunted Radio

Never before have we associated fright with a radio! And why not have a Halloween radio?! Thank you so much for this fine creation, Kathy!
38. Nora - Purple Fright House

One of the most appreciable things about some houses is their creator's use of glitter. Look at how wonderfully glitter effects set off Nora's beautiful Fright House! And have you ever seen cooler smoke coming from a chimney?
39. Amanda - Cryptid Carousel Gazebo

This could be a submission for cryptid appreciation day! It's past time that someone paired "cryptids with their favourite carousel for a spooky twist on a familiar ride." Thank you for doing it, Amanda! So lovely!
40. Maxwell (age 14) - Monster Mashers Dance Hall

This year's first children's category entry comes from Maxwell, with this magnificent Dance Hall for the Monster Mashers. Isn't it a great place for a dance, complete with a cemetery outside, in case one forgets the mood. Thank you so much for submitting this, Maxwell! Your company is most welcome.
41. Joyce - Pumpkin Harvest

Sometimes we forget the importance of harvest season overlapping with Halloween, but a beautiful entry like this one reminds! You know it is a bountiful harvest, when the harvest house looks so satisfyingly full and sated. Thank you for this submission, Joyce.
42. Gina - Wizard Worldly Wares

Any wizard that can float a coupe above their house commands our respect! This beautiful ensemble features a colorful house where admission is by wand, only, and no muggles allowed! Broom parking on the side! This is so nice, Gina!
43. Lesa - The Bates B&B

Even just naming a Halloween house after Hitchcock's classic thriller sends chills down the spine of us from that generation. What is scarier than a house of lodging where, per Lesa's description, people check in but never check out?
44. Brenda - The Haunted Light Up Ghost House

Among all of the exceptional elements in Brenda's Light Up creation, perhaps the favorite would be the witch sitting atop the pumpkin holding a cat! The angular towers are so fun, as is the jack-o-lantern cauldron.
45. Kathy - Frankenstein Mansion

Kathy's Frankenstein Mansion is so nuanced, it almost appears as if there are more than three dimensions to it. The intricacy and stylized elements are spectacular.
46. Charmaine - Midnight Ghost Train from Ghoulsville

When the Grim Reaper is calling train attendees to all aboard, you know things are serious! Look at this imaginative little creation from Charmaine! Exquisite. Ghoulsville is one spooky place.
47. Joyce - Happy Haunting-Flight Training

Who in the history of these contests has pointed out that witches filling the skies in the Halloween season must have learned to fly somewhere?! Joyce thought of it, as portrayed in this delightful scene! It looks like one witch bailed out unceremoniously!
48. KarenH - Maven the Raven Moving Company

In perhaps the most visually striking submission of 2025, Karen H's depiction of Witch Hazel's house being moved would surely have us considering alternate possibilities! One house occupant seems to be begging for rescue, but how? Can't see getting a helicopter in there. He's doomed, I tell you, doomed!
49. Nancy - Little Halloween House

We never want to think that we have 'seen it all,' but that is easy to remember when you see Nancy's terrific little house with such a unique ghost, surrounded by Halloween pumpkins.
50. Brenda - Cricut Cuties in the Forest

What do you call a PPG contest with no Cricut Cuties? We won't know, because they are here in force in Brenda's delightful creation! And beware those scary spiders on the roof.
51. Nancy - Little Church with Ghosts and Cemetery

If you want to repel unwanted guests from your property, you could hardly do better than to populate the space with terrifying ghosts, as Nancy has done in this scary scene.
52. Lesa - For Rent - Adorable Candy Corn House

If you want to make your craft colors POP, just follow Lesa's lead! Look at this beautiful house, and heed her caution: do not eat! Love the kitty on the top!
53. Brenda - Trick or Treating at the Vulture Gulch Mercantile

There is something truly special about expansive craft scenes like the one Brenda has created here! A world of thought has gone into every detail, and it really shows! This is a great scene.
54. Jean - Halloween Party at MOUSEKINS Community Center

Fortunately, Jean's excellent entry included front and back views, so everyone can get a better sense of the imagination that went into this fun creation.
55. Lesa - The Catloon

Once known as the Vulture Gulch Saloon, Lesa told us that former patrons renamed it after it was possessed by black cats! Scary! (Unless you love cats!)
56. Heather - Nevermore Bookstore

Heather is a big fan of both Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King as you can see from the back of her Nevermore Bookstore. Thank you, Heather, for showing the magnificence of both sides!
57. Chloe (age 7) - Halloween Spider House

Here we have three youth category entries, all in the same photo. This entry focuses on (age 7) Chloe's spider house, with its brilliant red sheen and dark windows.
58. Mabel (age 5) - Witch Hat House

For this entry, the house in question is the Witch Hat House. You can see what a fine, fun job Mabel did with that! Watch out for the scary spider if you approach.
59. Citlalli (age 7) - Dotted Halloween House

Citlalli's house is the Dotted house in the middle, with the cool windows and red roof. We hope you enjoyed making the house as much as we enjoy seeing it, Citlalli!
60. Misti - The Hare Witch Project

Misti created this scary scene in tribute to her two bunnies, Buffy and Chunk Norris. We think they would be well pleased! Very nice, Misti! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
61. Maureen - Mo's Potion Palace

If you are going to have a serious 'Potion Palace,' nothing makes the case better than great signage! I particularly love the shadows of the roof beneath the ghosts, and the ground surface around the house. Fascinating!
62. Emily - Erickson Manor

Here Emily sends us a beautiful father/daughter collaboration for this lovely house, with an inviting upstairs porch and the entire scene replete with Halloween pumpkins. A keepsake!
63. Kathy - Dracula's Cottage

Hello Dracula! Don't look up! There's a witch and bats and ghosts ... terrifying crowd gathering about your home!
64. Edith - Spooky Gus House

Edith's fine house has such interesting colors, the house siding, the contrasting shutters, but it's the roof that holds attention the best. And the ornamentation along the roofline is exquisite.
65. Colleen - Pumpkinshire Palace

Check out this lovely autumn house shared by Colleen. Even the roof shows the clear pumpkin theme to great effect.
66. Colleen - Amethyst Hollow

What a delightfully off-kilter house! The strands are magical, and the rich colors in the windows really set off the purple shades of the house. Excellent job, Colleen!
2025 Joy of Creation Submissions
While we have described it before, we love these Joy of Creation items because they are shared for the joy without any competitive constraint - they can be any size, they can be from previous years, they can be Halloween/Fall Season concepts that have nothing to do with houses, they can be hot houses! We hope you appreciate them as much as we do!
1. JOC1 - Howard - Halloween Welcome Gate

To me the witch looks like Cruella de Vil of Disney films fame. I think the jack-o-lanterns really balance the spooky scene.
2. JOC2 - Nora - Orange Delight

Orange Delight is aptly named! It is just as well, orange is a great Halloween color, and it goes so wonderfully with the glitter and the black and the purple.
3. JOC3 - Bake - Halloween Treat Truck

How is this for a magical non-house Halloween idea? I can see neighborhood kids swarming around this glorious truck as soon as it stops.
4. JOC4 - Donna - Years of Halloween

With this great submission, Donna has shared Halloween houses she has made over the years in one awesome village! So creative!
5. JOC5 - Marsha - Made-for-Fun Halloween House

May no one ever think that Joy of Creation houses lack brilliance and creativity! Marsha's beautiful house is oversized, but not just in dimension - also in spirit and creative inspiration. On top of that, these may be some of the most wonderful windows we've seen. But all of the imaginative touches are magical.
6. JOC6 - Nora - Village Tour-de-Force

This stupendous Joy of Creation submission from Nora clearly shows that sharing a creation represents no quality compromise of any kind! This is one of the most astonishing (in the BEST way) scenes we have seen in a long time. It's beautiful, Nora!
7. JOC7 - Gloria - Prior Year House

Gloria has graciously shared this house with us, that she created in a past year and gifted to a friend. Such creativity keeps on giving! Such beautiful and generous work, Gloria. Your cat on the right is the coolest!
8. JOC8 - Nora - Haunted Wave Breaks Over Halloween

Imagine the power of any conjurer who could compel a wave to crash over a spooky Halloween house! And count the steps! You will never climb high enough in time! This is amazing, Nora. Thank you for sharing it with us.
9. JOC9 - Nora - Owl Have a Nice Halloween

Owl have a nice Halloween, how about you? Isn't this little line of houses so beautiful? Yet another wonderful surprise from Nora! Great work, generous share.
10. JOC10 - Brenda - Halloween Miscellany

One of the coolest ideas of this Halloween season on PPG was Brenda's choice to offer leftover items from her contest entries as standalone Joy of Creation submissions. This is pure joy. So inspirational, Brenda! Applause.
11. JOC11 - Shirl - Halloween Scene

When your Halloween crafting brightens your kitchen, as this beautiful scene does for Shirl and family!
12. JOC12 - Brenda - Halloween Banner

We believe that this Trick or Treat banner from Brenda is the first banner posted in Joy of Creation. It's so good.
13. JOC13 - Melanie - Years of Contest Submissions

It's easy to underestimate how much quality we can generate in years of crafting. Here, Melanie has assembled Halloween houses from present and past in a brilliant display. Just excellent work, Melanie, and a fine share. Truly something to be proud of, and a source of inspiration for us.
14. JOC14 - Jacqueline - lil-gus-the-ghost-house

Perhaps one of the first things we look for in a house is, did the creator have fun, thanks to the house? I think it is clear with Jacqueline's house that the answer is yes. How fast can that skeleton go on that motorcycle?!
15. JOC15 - Sue - Oh Boo! There goes the Neighborhood

Sue writes that this is Minerva's Middle Gable house from the 13 Handcrafted Halloween Houses book. She said she was working on technique and combinations and decided it would make a cute neighborhood. The newcomers to the neighborhood are "different" so the ghost decided to leave and the witch left a "hot dish" at their door. I am impressed with shingles and the landscaping including the moon in the background. What do you think?
16. JOC16 - Amy - Mer de Mal

We almost never use a crafter's own words for a submission, but this is Joy of Creation, and Amy's words were just too good. "Here is Mer de Mal! He came as a ghost to claim this Sea Café and other creatures came to laud his claim, frightening those who had hoped for a cappuccino and a view…"
17. JOC17 - Dawn - Black Cat Boo-tique

Dawn, one of our many magnificent Joy of Creation heroes, has sent us four JOC items, beginning with this incredible cat-themed autumn 'boo-tique!'
18. JOC18 - Dawn - Halloween - Cats in Window

This is so true! Our cats love the windows, too! The better to be seen!
19. JOC19 - Dawn - Halloween House with Weathervane

I know it sounds ominous, but I think Dawn's weathervane is directing those bats to Halloween mischief!
20. JOC20 - Dawn - Witch in Silhouette House

With the witch super-imposed on the moon, it is easier to miss the witch you would have to pass at the front gate! This is a beautiful house, Dawn, and a wonderful scene. Great use of leaves as well.
21. JOC21 - Bake - Halloween Houses and Cards Display

On several occasions PGG members have posted displays of house/greeting card combinations. Bake did that in time for inclusion in Joy of Creation. Isn't the display beautiful? Proud!

Rules for the 2025 Miniature Halloween House Contest
1. Have fun
Really, the entire purpose of this is to have fun and to share the fun. Simply make a house that expresses a Halloween or Autumn/Harvest season theme or atmosphere and enjoy the process, the fine company.
To emphasize this point, the contest period is now open to what we call "Joy of Creation' submissions, of which we received SIX for this year's Easter/Spring. Every year we seem to have members who just want to participate in the creative challenge, not the contest itself. We applaud this mindset, because it reflects the spirit of our group so well, where satisfaction is found in creation of little houses and scenes and in the sharing of that with friends.
Another possibility, as noted in Rule 8, you may enter up to three houses in the competition.
The Joy of Creation Option
We enthusiastically welcome Joy of Creation submissions because you may not be interested in competing for prizes - you just like to create. We want to see and appreciate what you make. In addition, we are not setting any limit on such submissions. Just please add the tag #JoyOfCreation when you post them. For that matter, these submissions can also be items too large for contest qualification, items from previous years or even creations that are not houses. Express yourself!
2. Name Your Design
First NAME YOUR DESIGN! This helps the judges (and contest visitors) remember each design. It also adds to the design.
It's much better for those viewing your creation if it has a name. Some of the names of submissions in prior contests are incredibly creative. Naming your design enhances your submission, and is an avenue of creative expression in its own right.
PLEASE WRITE A SENTENCE OR TWO (OR TEN!) ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS, YOUR INSPIRATION AND THE LIKE. MANY PEOPLE REQUEST THIS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU. INSPIRATION IS CONTAGIOUS.
3. Three Ways to Enter the 2025 Miniature Halloween House Contest
a) Post your house in the Paper Glitter Glue Facebook group with the tag #2025MiniHalloweenHouse. Please join this Facebook group so you can enter there. It's the best way to enter. (This is best way to insure your submission is captured without issue.)
b) Email me a photo on or after October 1. The address is [email protected]. Please include the title 2025 Mini Halloween House in your email title so I can find the photo easily and include it as an official submission.
c) Follow me on Instagram and post your 2025 Halloween house and tag me @lucyf7b on Instagram.
A note about submissions. It often happens that folks share their houses in the Facebook group prior to the beginning of the contest. That is fine, just please remember to either re-post it once the contest opens, or send me an email with a link to the submission. We won't start scanning for official entries prior to the start of the contest. But the house does have to be made during the 2025 calendar year.
In submitting your creations, you are giving me permission to post a picture or pictures of your project on my website and social media just like I did for the Easter house contest in April. I love to share your projects because they are all so incredible. This allows all site visitors and guests to see your creations, which can help inspire them in turn. Our usual convention is to post only first names with the house names with no personal information.
Finally, after you have submitted your house and we get the entries all posted here, please check to be certain that we have captured your submission(s)! Email immediately if we missed something or made an error with it!
4. Permission to Post Your House Photo on my website and on social media.
5. Size Limitation for the 2025 Miniature Halloween House Contest
Here are the size limitations:
Base - no limitation on the base so you can landscape as much as you want, but the size of the house does have limitations
House height - no taller than 12 inches tall
Width of House - no wider than 12 inches
Depth of the House - no deeper than 10 inches
Villages or small groups of houses are welcome as long as each house is no bigger than the measurements listed above.
Note: It is much harder to take in all the details in one photo. We need one good photo for the judges to look at. Post as many as you like, but for the judging we usually have room just to include one photo.
6. Use any pattern you like
For your entries, you can use your own pattern, my patterns, patterns from my friend, Jackie of A Cottage in the Forest, Tim Holtz houses, or even a purchased pattern.
7. The house must be made of cardboard or cardstock
Your house needs to be paper-based - made out of either cardboard or card stock. No wooden houses. But you can use other materials for the base, landscape, and embellishments.
8. Creativity and Originality are emphasized
Creativity and originality are important and will be emphasized in judging. Hint: Let the fun shine through!
Also creativity in naming your house helps to make it more special. Please tell us a little bit about your house - how you made it, what inspired it, etc. We all love to read about the creative inspiration behind your projects. We are delighted to note that people are becoming much more creative with house names. It is a very welcome trend.
9. You may enter up to 3 houses, but the houses must be unique and constructed in 2025
Up to three submissions, all of houses created in this calendar year. (Again, note, this rule does not restrict submission 'Joy of Creation' houses, which are not eligible for prizes. That does not compromise our appreciation of them and you!)
10. How to Vote for the People's Choice Award for this Year's Contest.
You will have one vote when you post a comment at the end of this post AFTER ALL THE ENTRIES ARE IN, VOTING STARTS ON October 24th and lasts until midnight on October 25th. And you have another vote on my YouTube channel. Subscribe to get notifications of when we post the contest video. Please note this is intended to be about fun and creativity, not competition. Vote for your choices, but please don't 'stuff the ballot box.'
GET THE KIDS INVOLVED MAKING A MINIATURE HALLOWEEN HOUSE!
We always love to see house submissions from your children (in two categories this year! Ages 10 & under and 11-16. Please note their age with the submission so we can get them properly entered in the correct category). Allow their youthful creativity to flow. The names of the children's submissions will be placed in a hat and drawn randomly. Those submissions aren't - and should not be - competitive. They should have fun with no other concerns! But we love encouraging them to exercise their imaginations and creative skills.
Note: Prizes in children's submissions in the two age categories will be by a random drawing. No competitive pressure! No value judgments.
So that is the Miniature Halloween House Contest for this year. Whatever you do, enjoy it! Enjoy making your houses and sharing them. That's what it is all about.
Deadline for submissions for the 2025 Miniature Halloween House Contest is October 23rd.
Deadline for photo entries is October 23rd and the winners will be announced on October 26th.

could you tell us more about your scoring rubric? what are you looking for the most? how do you choose number 1? number 2? number 3? how can contestants that didn't win get feedback so they can improve their designs and win in the future? also, have you tried using a Google Forms or survey for voting? it might make your job of tallying the votes easier and increase the number of votes submitted.
Susan

I have comments on the comments posted here. First, I note that contestants are for the most part not very competitive, Is it poor form to vote for yourself? I would expect at least one vote for each entry, but that is not the case. Second, I don't understand how people are not following the instructions or perhaps they are having problems with posting their comment. I see several instances of people voting twice (for the same entry or for different entries) on this Contest page. I also see several people who vote for two or more (up to five!) entries in one comment. I don't think these are instances of cheating, but on my third note I am curious to know how these votes are tallied. Are they allowed their multiple votes? Yes, this contest is meant to be fun, but people should try to follow the rules. Four, voting seems relatively light given the large number of entries, but I note the entries with the most votes (numbers 54 and 60) may have mass appeal for emotional vs technical reasons. One is a tribute to lost pet rabbits and the other appeals to childhood, both serving an important purpose in our current troubled times. Just my comments. My vote? I enjoyed them all and I have not developed a criteria for rating one over another.
Lucy
Lots of good points here.
Not everyone votes for themselves. Often people really like someone else's project and they vote for that. I really like it that people do that.
After doing this for a number of years, I realize that people don't really read the rules. I understand that. But as you said, this is supposed to be fun so unless something is egregiously against the rules, I don't worry about it.
I personally tally the votes. Most often one entry has many more votes than number 2 so I don't have to go back and see if someone has voted twice or not.
I do agree that the votes are lighter than expected. I don't know why that is the case this year.
The People's Choice Award is just one of the awards. My judges choose the top 3 and some special awards.
I am so glad you mentioned that this is supposed to be fun. That's why I try to keep everything light and happy.

Doug Drew
63 is my vote! Great job!
Doug Drew
45 is awesome. Love the detail! I vote for it.
Patti
54 because I know I can't reproduce this. Most of the other entries are so professional and perfect but I could attempt them with my Cricut machine if I were more skillful and talented. Some were wildly imaginative and creative. 54 is a quite ordinary concept (not trying to be demeaning) but I have never seen a pattern or instructions for a paper pumpkin like this, combined with handmade fabric mice in costumes, so I am most impressed with the construction overall.
Lucy
I love that, Patti.
Lucy
Lucy
Patti, I love this project. And she was so creative to add all the little figures so that it looks like a real party.
And I think you can attempt some of these with your machine at any skill level. I have confidence in you.

54 Halloween Party
I like Disney Cinderella mice, mice in costumes, parties, and pumpkins.
Ann
For me, Halloween is all about children dressed in costumes and trying to figure out what they are. I know this contest is about mini houses, and that's fine with me since the pumpkin is also a nice house. OK, these children are mice (and I don't especially like mice) but their costumes are very nice so I'm still enthralled by them.
Oh, almost forgot. I vote for 54 Halloween Party!
Edel
I voted on the YouTube channel, but I have to vote for my other favorite on here! #17! It gives me all the fall feels 🎃
Lucy
Edel, the Autumn farm has such warm colors. I like it too.

Pye Cornejo
I MUST vote for #13! I wasn't reading the names of the entries, and as soon as I saw this one, it brought me memories of my dad, who passed in 1999. One of his absolute favorite places was Bodie and THEN I saw the name! Yep! This is the one. Thank you for the memories I have been able to revisit <3
Lucy
Pye, I think that village is absolutely outstanding. It's so good and so detailed that it is hard to see all the incredible work she put into it.
I didn't realize what Bodie referred to. I am so glad it brought back fond memories for you.
Lucy
Karen Holt
Since I spent so much time on this project I have to get at least one vote, so I vote for myself. Number 48, Maven Raven Moving co.
Lucy
Karen, your work is absolutely outstanding. It is incredible and I know you will far more than one vote in the People's Choice category. Honestly, my mouth dropped open when I saw it. The creative idea behind the design is genius, too.

The bright, happy colors of the pumpkin house #54, Jean's Halloween Party at the Mousekins Community Center, are so refreshing and eye-catching. That entry gets my vote. Plus the mice in costumes are adorable.

I have to do something different next year so we can highlight scenes like this. Deadwood Hollow is amazing, but you can't really appreciate it from one photo. I think we will have separate Village category or contest even so we can show multiple photos.
