    2. Next cut out the pieces for the candy baskets

I recommend that you use a lighter weight card stock like 65# card stock (176 gsm) because some of these pieces are fairly intricate. In addition, they are much, much easier to cut out with a cutting machine like a Cricut or Silhouette.

Here's how the file looks when uploaded to Cricut Design Space.

In order to cut out the file with a cutting machine, it is important to designate score lines on the basket piece.

First ungroup the design. Delete the one inch square.

Now, select on the score lines. Notice that the color box next to the operations menu is red. I always draw score lines in red to help you know that these lines are score lines. You can see that in the photo below on the upper left hand corner.

    Select the basket score lines

Under the operations menu, scroll down and choose score. The lines will now show up as dashed lines.

Choose score under the operations menu

Select the entire basket piece so you can attach the score lines to your piece.

    Select the entire basket piece

Finally click attach at the bottom right of the screen so your Cricut machine knows that this set of score lines belongs to the basket shape.

Attach the score lines to the basket piece

Now you can cut out the design. Remember I use 65# card stock because the details are much easier to cut out in thinner card stock.

    3. Assemble the animal figures

Glue the animal layers together. I've tried to minimize the small pieces that you have to glue on to make it easier to construct. You can see the layers in the PDF files.

    4. Fold along the basket score lines, then glue the basket overlay pattern to the surface of the basket pattern

First, fold along the basket score lines. That makes it easier to place the basket overlay design in the proper location.

Next glue the basket overlay in place.

    5. Assemble the basket by gluing the side tabs to the angled sides of the basket. Adhere the handle

Apply glue to the side glue tabs and adhere to the angled sides.

Next glue the 2 layers of the handle together.

Next gently curve the handle and adhere to the basket.

    6. Glue the grass pieces to the base of the basket

There are 4 pieces of grass for the base of the basket - 2 angled pieces and 2 straight pieces. Adhere to the base of the basket.

    7. Glue the animal figure to the front of the basket
