My friend, JenniferMaker, asked me to write a guest post for her blog. I am one of her students in the A Cut Above course where I learned to make SVG patterns to cut out on my Cricut.
Since I love to make little houses, I made a house variation - a Cuckoo Clock that really works.
You can get the free pattern in JenniferMaker's incredible craft library. In addition, it is in my Paper Glitter Glue library in the May 2020 section.
So both the tutorial for making the Cuckoo clock is on JenniferMaker's blog. Hurry to the DIY Wall Clock with a Cuckoo (Yes, It Really Tells Time!) post to read all about making the Cuckoo clock.
Have fun making your very own personalized DIY wall clock!

And check out some of my other projects - the Little Red Schoolhouse or the Red Roof Holiday Cottage for inspiration.

Hi, I'm looking for the diy wall clock with a cuckoo svg and I can't seem to find it on your blog or jennifermaker.com. I'm really excited to try this. Can you please point me in the right direction?
Lucy
It's in the my Paper Glitter Glue library on May 2020.
Christi
Nevermind, I finally found it. It was hiding from me...lol
Thanks for the files. Can't wait to make it.
Lucy
I am so glad you found it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi! I'm making the clock and I bought the clock mechanism in your link, but the hands are too long. I didn't resize your svg, was I supposed to?
Thank you for the pattern!
Lucy
No. The hands come in different sizes and it's hard to tell from the package what size they are just by looking. You can either take the mechanism back and get a clock mechanism with 2 inch hands (or approximately that length) or sometimes you can find the hands without the clock itself. I found separate clock hands at Hobby Lobby and Michaels, but often the hands are larger than 2 inches.
Here's a link to one place that sells them - Clock Parts.
KlockIt is much cheaper, but be sure to get the right type of hands to match the clock mechanism you have. For the clock mechanism that I used from Michaels, it is NOT the push on type.

I have actually just taken good scissors and snipped the ends to make them shorter. I do this all the time!
Lucy
I wondered if that would work. Thank you for letting us know this crafty tip.
