Fairy house covered with pink flowers with woodland background

This is the 3rd project in the 12 day Fairy House Challenge. We learned how to make card stock or cardboard houses on the first 2 days, so now is a good time to decorate your first Fairy House with a simple 5-petal flower and flower-shaped windows and a leafy door. The pattern is free in the Paper Glitter Glue library as design no. 157.

What do you need to make these Easy Paper Flowers for Your Fairy House?

  • Card stock is a good option for flowers. I usually use Recollections card stock. Since making the flowers isn't structural, 65# card stock works well.
  • My favorite paper for this type of flower is watercolor paper because it takes stain and paint so well.
  • I used Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain for the pink flowers in this project.
  • My favorite paints for coloring leaves and flowers are the Distress Paints, they are kind of watery and expensive, but they give beautiful variation to your flowers.
  • For some types of flowers, crepe paper is a great option.
  • Add dimension to your flowers with a stylus and foam pad
  • Bearly Art Glue is great for adhering the flowers.
  • I like to add dimension to my flowers using a stylus with some foam backing.
  • You need a way to cut out your flowers, I use my Cricut Maker, but any cutting machine can cut out the flowers. If you don't have a cutting machine, I recommend using paper punches so you can get lots of flowers cut out easily.

What is included in the Easy Flowers file?

The photo below shows you what is included in the flower file - 2 sizes of flowers for decorating the fairy house, flower shaped windows. a larger flower than can be used as a base, 2 door options, leaves, and yellow centers for the flowers.
