Official 2025 Contest Submissions
Every contest we are blown away by the ideas and how the ideas are brought to life. There is never an exception to this, but this year's houses are a level beyond!
1. Cathy - Easter Bliss House

Cathy submitted several beautiful pictures, but we picked this one because the lighting shows off the features so well. The vegetation, the bunnies, the colors, the house itself, this submission is a complete package, and a tour de force of creative genius.
2. Carol - Springtime in the Neighborhood

With the proliferation of wreath habitat for house display, it is easy to think it is harder to do without the wreath, but Carol shows the fallacy of that thinking with these delightful bird houses, all unique, all owned by different birds, highlighted by amazing vegetation and butterflies! So beautiful!
3. Melissa - Bunny's Candy Basket

Am I the only one being overcome with appetite for Easter candy after viewing this submission? Every feature is thought-out and artfully executed. I love the colors, the stylized eggs, the trees, the basket design. This is a lovely Easter season submission. Please excuse me, I have to go find a chocolate bunny!
4. Beth - Whitewood Easter Cottage

There is a special art to the use of color in cardboard house crafting. Some colors don't lend themselves to the purpose, and the challenge can be greater the more colors that are used. That isn't a problem in Beth's incredible submission, and the balloons on top just make the case more convincingly. Just look at the great colors on the house! There are beautiful little pictures in the windows, and if you aren't thinking of Up, the movie, it is past time! Great concept!
5. Karen - Easter in an MCM House

Many group members have experience with the MCM houses, with their clean lines, open spaces, and a harmonious connection with nature. As you can see, they lend themselves to use in an Easter setting very well, indeed. Look at the textures on the white chimney! This is an Easter fest feast for the eyes!
6. Shari - Spring Fling House

There are many features of this submission that jump out. Look at the great doors and windows and the skylight! The colors blend together seamlessly, and the planters really accent the submission. This is a great creation, Shari. Thank you for sharing it with us.
7. Gina - Easter Villa

This creation makes me think of the woman who lived in a shoe. This time, it is a chocolate bunny house! How cool is that! The window at the top of the bunny ears is so precious! The eggs and bunnies along the entrance path make the most delicious, benevolent gauntlet you will ever see. Please visit!
8. Karen - Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage makes as lovely a spring scene as it does an Easter one. Karen suggests a stroll through the flower beds with a glass of wine. There are beautiful flowers on both sides of the houses that the frontal view does not show, but you can see the bunny peeking around the corner, at least! These are great colors for a spring submission, and the window box at the top is magnificent!
9. Judy - Pastel Palace

PPG veterans require no introduction to Judy and her incredible houses. Every detail is exquisite and - anyone tasked with posting her houses to the group can save themselves the words. The houses speak for themselves.
10. Judy - Springtime Chalet

Judy Spring house submission. Beautiful. 'Nuff said.
11. Max (age 14) - Easter Egg Factory

It is a special joy to see this, as our Christmas contest received no youth submissions. Look at the imagination Max offers! A production line with eggs flowing post and bunnies doing the honors with the decoration! Who else could conceive such a magical scene? Thank you, Max!
12. Cathy - Pastel Glitter House

With all of the glitter in this beautiful entry, the house name is easy to understand. I find myself captivated by more, however, the super colorful little characters, the many eggs and perhaps most of all by the ingenious flower effects at the windows and on the roof. I have never seen that before. It really works well.
13. Karen - A Handyman's Dream

I know in her YouTube lives, Lucy has told about plans to go to the Netherlands in a few weeks. Perhaps that's what is so compelling about the tulips in this exceptional Spring submission. The welcome mat for this Handyman's Dream house is welcoming indeed. It is a beautiful, warm house.
14. Joyce - The Beauty of Spring House

It's so easy to think of Spring as 'just' a season. But what if the seasons are alive and aware of us? Aware of our appreciation? Can we do any better than consciously welcoming them into our presence? I can't imagine that any craft house can have done it better than Joyce's house does. Welcome Spring!
15. Melanie - Easter at Our House

What a cool Easter House! The colors and textures are so rich! My eye keeps returning to the roof, of all places. The colors in the roof are not glossy, yet they seem to glow. The multi-tone chimney aligns the scene perfectly, with everything further set off by the vegetation and the eggs. There are people for whom the holiday is a soul-level event. This show makes it so clear. Thank you for sharing it with us, Melanie.
16. Cathy - Believe in Fairies Easter House

Believe in fairies, believe in fairies ... do you remember in Wizard of Oz where the cowardly lion repeated to himself over and over that he did believe in ghosts? I do believe in fairies, and I don't think I have ever witnessed them in such a delightful scene.
17. Donna - Betty Bunny's Bungalow

Betty Bunny welcomes you to this creative scene! The entrance gazebo is nearly as cool as the beautiful house, itself! How many times has Betty Bunny passed through to care for her family? The vegetative effects leap off the screen in their brilliance and their variety. You can't tell me you have ever seen a cuter fox in any PGG picture! Finally, if you did not see the magnificent poem Donna wrote to accompany her submission, go right now! (Link should convey you straight there.)
18. Joyce - Rainy Day and Then There is a Pagoda

It is always a special feeling when we get a glimpse into the seasons in an eastern culture. Joyce's beautiful pagoda transports us into a spring world of cherry blossoms and glorious spring color.
19. Alda - Easter Bunny Crazy House

Alda's fine submission is an explosion of color, from the sides of the house with the egg shapes to the greenhouse attached to the left. All houses don't benefit from lighting within, but this one clearly does, giving the windows a welcome contrast. Look at the egg shapes on the roof! How novel is that!
20. Shari - Easter Bunny's Carrot Castle

Who could have ever imagined carrots as essential support elements in a castle? Shari could, and did! Watch out, though, a bunny is trying to vandalize carrots in the adjacent garden!
21. LaDonna - Our Family Easter House

LaDonna's incredible house includes ideas from just about everyone in the family, which is easy to see in the wealth of color and vegetation. While the submission is in three dimensions, the lovely side views make it seem like more. I particularly love the house textures, and how well the turquoise elements set the house off. It is the home of a happy family, indeed.
22. Elizabeth - The Holy Roller Express

Elizabeth used her own design for this remarkable creation. The caravan transports the Easter Bunny to deliver treats and gifts to children along the way. I particularly love the lamb and the little yellow chick! Such a joyful scene!
23. Jodie - Flutterblossom Meadow

It is hard to imagine a creature more suited to the renewal of Spring that butterflies. They gift such a fine, delicate energy. They are colorful, ubiquitous and they have a lovely sense of joy, as you can see in this super-colorful and imaginative creation from Jodie. I just love this scene.
24. Eileen - Church of Everlasting Light

Sometimes the quickest path to appreciating a house is to abandon straightaway any counting! There are so many wonderful elements here that it's tricky. The light seems to surround and embrace this church. The community members give it soul, and look how the people are smaller in the distance at the church, a unique perspective element. I love the clock on the left and the freestanding wall on the right, and everything in between.
25. Melissa - Cottontail's Cafe & Bakery

Sometimes we get a submission that really is mouth-watering! Look at the confections in Melissa's creation! Cakes and eggs and goodies abound! I really like the carrots bracketing the house! Delightful!
26. Lizzie - Shepherdess Hut

If you think it is possible to include baby goats in a Spring/Easter submission without comment, you are mistaken! Look at hoe cute they are! With this little trailer home, they only complete an already magical scene. The house and the steps have such incredible rust-like textures, and the window boxes add a festive flair.
27. Suzanne - For the Love of Purple Fairy House

I really like the purple shades in this scene. It's like the angels blessed the whole with the lovely colors. The vegetation elements really compliment the main structure, as does the wonderful walkway. The side house is stunning, and please don't overlook the magical little birdhouse! Do you see it?!
28. Serene - HareBNB

This is Serene's first time participating, but her concept shows great experience and talent. HareBNB (what a great name!) sleeps six bunnies, features carrot dormers, a peeps decorated front door, a swing for relaxing, and a carrot garden for snacking. It makes a complete and beautiful Easter presentations. (The bunnies know best!)
29. Nora - Sweet Dreams Cottage

No one needs to clarify that Nora's Sweet Dreams Cottage is a Spring Dream, the colors themselves shout it! What a happy, happy place! For the bunnies, of course, but for members of PPG, as well! Your ensemble is a dreams for us all, Nora. Thank you for sharing it with us.
30. Jean - Hippity Hop Easter Day School

I most love the playful nature of Jean's imaginative Hippy Hop Easter Day School. I can just picture kids peeking out the windows to try to see where the eggs are being hidden. I can feel their excitement being magnified because of learning in such a fun and colorful place! I never had so beautiful a school!
I'm adding the adorable handmade students than Jean made because it really makes the school. All the little bunnies are made out of felt. Aren't they cute?

31. Misti - Buffy's Fluffle Shuffle

I have not yet decided on my favorite name for a creation in this year's contest, yet, but Buffy's Fluffle Shuffle has to be high up there! Look at the bunny appreciation for this delightful scene! So very cool!
32. Joyce - Rose House

Rose House on Rose Lane with such a cool Rose arbor entrance, this is just great! The bunnies are there to welcome you into a haven of Easter eggs and delightful seasonal color! The rose colors just work so well with this! You have done a great job, Joyce. We're proud of you.
All items below are of Joy of Creation submissions.
We encourage Joy of Creation because these works of art showcase and share creativity, which is really what the group is about, what we hope you take away from your creations. Please enjoy them and submit more!
1. JOC1 - Karen - Birthday House for my Daughter

Enjoy this beautiful little house, Emily! Happy Birthday! And congratulations on having such a creative, loving Mom!
2. JOC2 - Karen - Dutch Windmill

This is a particularly exciting submission, since Lucy and her brother are planning a bike trip to the Netherlands in late May. Your windmill is just extraordinary, Karen! Great colors and such imaginative features.
3. JOC3 - Dana - Easter Bunny Friends

While in the contest our focus is on houses, we love the Joy of Creation submissions because magnificent creativity can stretch outside of the contest categories. Dana's lovely work shows no house, but what exquisite creations and what lovely words! Our appreciation extends beyond categories, as well!
4. JOC4 - Dawn - Bunny Eraser House

One of the best things about Joy of Creation submissions is how astonishingly creative they are. Dawn's delightful house is as imaginative as anything you will see anywhere. We really appreciate your sending that, Dawn!
5. JOC5 - Shannon - Pete's Greenhouse

This glowing greenhouse speaks well of Pete's growing capabilities! I cannily imagine how bright it would be in there during the day when the plants are growing! Didn't Shannon do a beautiful job with this?!
6. JOC6 - Melody - New to Us Home

This beautiful creation shows both the joy of a new home and the placement of that home in a magical season: Spring! May you and your family always experience great joy in your new home!
2025 Mini Easter and Spring House Contest

This house is Bobbi's house named "Miss Cottontail Easter House" from 2022. I love the colors, the design, and the adorable little bunny in the front. Bobbi did a great job.

Rules for the 2025 Miniature Easter or Spring House Contest
1. Have fun
Really, the entire purpose of this is to have fun and to share the fun. Simply make a house that expresses a Easter or Spring season theme or atmosphere and enjoy the process, the fine company.
To emphasize this point, the contest period is now open to what we call "Joy of Creation' submissions, of which we received two for Halloween.(Hat tip Amy and Julie!) Every year we seem to have members who just want to participate in the creative challenge, not the contest itself. We applaud this mindset, because it reflects the spirit of our group so well, where satisfaction is found in creation of little houses and scenes and in the sharing of that with friends.
Another possibility, as noted in Rule 8, you may enter up to three houses in the competition.
The Joy of Creation Option
We enthusiastically welcome Joy of Creation submissions because you may not be interested in competing for prizes - you just like to create. We want to see and appreciate what you make. In addition, we are not setting any limit on such submissions. Just please add the tag #JoyOfCreation when you post them. For that matter, these submissions can also be items too large for contest qualification, or even creations that are not houses. Express yourself!
2. Name Your Design
First NAME YOUR DESIGN! This helps the judges (and contest visitors) remember each design. It also adds to the design.
It's much better for those viewing your creation if it has a name. Some of the names of the previous submissions are incredibly creative. Naming your design enhances your submission, and is an avenue of creative expression in its own right.
PLEASE WRITE A SENTENCE OR TWO (OR TEN!) ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS, YOUR INSPIRATION AND THE LIKE. MANY PEOPLE REQUEST THIS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU. INSPIRATION IS CONTAGIOUS.
3. Three Ways to Enter the 2025 Miniature Easter/Spring House Contest
a) Post your house in the Paper Glitter Glue Facebook group with the tag #2025MiniEasterHouse. Please join this Facebook group so you can enter there. It's the best way to enter. (This is best way to insure your submission is captured without issue.)
b) Email me a photo on or after March 15. The address is [email protected]. Please include the title 2025 Mini Easter or Spring House in your email title so I can find the photo easily and include it as an official submission.
c) Follow me on Instagram and post your 2025 Easter and Spring house and tag me @lucyf7b on Instagram.
A note about submissions. It often happens that folks share their houses in the Facebook group prior to the beginning of the contest. That is fine, just please remember to either re-post it once the contest opens, or send me an email with a link to the submission. We won't start scanning for official entries prior to the start of the contest. But the house does have to be made this calendar year.
Finally, after you have submitted your house and we get the entries all posted here, please check to be certain that we have captured your submission(s)! Email immediately if we missed something or made an error with it!
4. Permission to Post Your House Photo on my website and on social media.
In submitting your creations, you are giving me permission to post a picture or pictures of your project on my website and social media just like I did for the Christmas house contest last December. I love to share your projects because they are all so incredible. This allows all site visitors and guests to see your creations, which can help inspire them in turn. Our usual convention is to post only first names with the house names with no personal information.
5. Size Limitation for the 2025 Miniature Easter or Spring House Contest
Here are the size limitations:
Base - no limitation on the base so you can landscape as much as you want, but the size of the house does have limitations
House height - no taller than 12 inches tall
Width of House - no wider than 12 inches
Depth of the House - no deeper than 10 inches
Villages or small groups of houses are welcome as long as each house is no bigger than the measurements listed above.
Note: It is much harder to take in all the details in one photo. We need one good photo for the judges to look at. Post as many as you like, but for the judging we usually have room just to include one photo.
6. Use any pattern you like
For your entries, you can use your own pattern, my patterns, patterns from my friend, Jackie of A Cottage in the Forest, Tim Holtz houses, or even a purchased pattern.
7. The house must be made of cardboard or cardstock
Your house needs to be paper-based - made out of either cardboard or card stock. No wooden houses. But you can use other materials for the base, landscape, and embellishments.
8. Creativity and Originality are emphasized
Creativity and originality are important and will be emphasized in judging. Hint: Let the fun shine through!
Also creativity in naming your house helps to make it more special. Please tell us a little bit about your house - how you made it, what inspired it, etc. We all love to read about the creative inspiration behind your projects. We are delighted to note that people are becoming much more creative with house names. It is a very welcome trend.
9. You may enter up to 3 houses, but the houses must be unique and constructed in 2025
Up to three submissions, all of houses created in this calendar year. (Again, note, this rule does not restrict submission 'Joy of Creation' houses, which are not eligible for prizes.)
10. How to Vote for the People's Choice Award for this Year's Contest.
You will have one vote when you post a comment at the end of this post AFTER ALL THE ENTRIES ARE IN, VOTING STARTS ON April 16th and lasts until midnight on April 17th. And you have another vote on my YouTube channel. Subscribe to get notifications of when we post the contest video. Please note this is intended to be about fun and creativity, not competition. Vote for your choices, but please don't 'stuff the ballot box.'
GET THE KIDS INVOLVED MAKING A MINIATURE EASTER OR SPRING HOUSE!
We always love to see house submissions from your children (in two categories this year! Ages 10 & under and 11-16. Please note their age with the submission so we can get them properly entered in the correct category). Allow their youthful creativity to flow. The names of the children's submissions will be placed in a hat and drawn randomly. Those submissions aren't - and should not be - competitive. They should have fun with no other concerns! But we love encouraging them to exercise their imaginations and creative skills.
Note: Prizes in children's submissions in the two age categories will be by a random drawing. No competitive pressure! No value judgments.
So that is the Easter and Spring House Contest for this year. Whatever you do, enjoy it! Enjoy making your houses and sharing them. That's what it is all about.
Deadline for the 2025 Miniature Easter or Spring House Contest is April 15th.
Deadline for photo entries is April 15th and the winners will be announced on April 18th.
And if you would like more inspiration ...

It was a difficult decision but I vote for #21. I love all the little flowers in the yard. The light that flows out the window on the roof of the porch is amazing. Thank you everyone for sharing your creativity.

I loved all the hard work and love that went into these creations. It made choosing very difficult. I chose #1 Cathy's Easter Bliss House because I liked the lights and the detail, especially the characters in the windows.
