In the post where I showed you the Lady Davenport house, I mentioned that there is a surprise inside. Lady Davenport has a guest who is cooking up something special in the front parlor. Let's just hope Lady Davenport insists on appropriate safety measures when the guest is brewing concoctions in the parlor.
You can find the pattern for this house as Design No. 95 in the November 2020 sections of the Paper Glitter Glue library. Be sure to subscribe to get the free pattern.
The tutorial to make this house pattern is in the post - Giving Thanks - A Thanksgiving Putz House.
Here is how it looks with lights on inside the house (and it's dark outside).
I love to include details like this in the little houses. Not every house has a surprise guest, but some do. Below is a photo of the first house where I included this witch. This particular witch cut out is from a retired Martha Stewart punch which is still available on eBay, but fairly expensive. There are a number of witch dies which will work just a well as a surprise guest.
And here a couple of photos of the Count Awaits Bat Wing Halloween House where the surprise guest is in the doorway.
And there is another surprise. I entered the Lady Davenport house in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Stencil It" and was chosen as one of the Designer Spotlight artists! I am honored to be chosen.
The next house is also based on this Davenport house pattern. Each time I make a house with this pattern, I learn how to do it better, but truthfully, I think 3 is enough. I'll be developing a new pattern soon.
Let me know what you think. I do love to hear from you. If you have some ideas you would like to see or if you have specific questions, please let me know in the comments below. Thank you.

Oh, my gosh, the Bat Wing Halloween House is my all time FAVORITE! I'm not a big fan of Dracula, so it's ok I didn't get a good view of him in the doorway. But I love the wings as a roof and that incredible siding! So cool! Congrats on your spotlight at SSS! Yippee!

I've been waiting for the surprise and was thinking more ghostly so she was a surprise. Now I'm off to see the Bat Wing House. LOVE LOVE LOVE this house. My brother would have bugged me to no end to make him one but I want to get a few of the others done before tackling this one. I will just admire from afar.
