Oh man! I have so much fun making Card projects. This one is my absolute favorite. I call it a freestanding house pop-up card. What that means is when you open the card, it opens up a house that stands up on its own. It looks so cool. For the 2023 Cricut Card Summit which was held in I made a Woodland House pop-up card. You're going to love it.
What is the Cricut Card Summit? It's an online event to be held on May 16-18
It is an online event held on May 16 to May 18 where a bunch of creative speakers come together to share projects and tutorials on how to use a Cricut cutting machine for making cards. And not just any cards, but incredible cards ranging from easy to somewhat complex (like mine).
Here are some examples of what you'll get in the Cricut Card Summit:
- Baby shower shaker card
- Birthday pop-up card
- Father's day golf card
- Folded sunflower card
- Off-the-edge thank you cards
- Easter Shaker card with HTV
You can get a free ticket to attend this online summit, but if you want early access to the videos and files, purchase the VIP All Access Pass.
My project is the Woodland House Pop-Up Card
So I just admitted that most of my card projects are pretty involved. And that is true for this one as well. But the effect is totally worth the effort. Making one card for one special person will be worth your time. Kids, in particular, love it.

Supplies to Make the Woodland House Pop-Up Card
- Card stock - generally I use 65# card stock for my cards. 8.5 x 11 inches works for every piece except the outer card base.
- Card stock for Fence - 110#. The fence works much better with heavier card stock
- Background card requires 12 x 12 inch card stock
- Glue - Bearly Art Glue is my favorite
- Pattern - Woodland House Pop-Up Card SVG (included in the Cricut Card Summit free ticket)
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air to cut out the patterns
- Light grip or Standard grip mat (that's not too sticky)
- Fine point blade
- Scoring Tool
- Scoring Wheel (I think the scoring tool is much easier to use, though it does not score as deeply)
- Cricut Pen or pen with adapter to work with Cricut

Carla Winter
these are such adorable little projects. I enjoy the challenge of the more complex things. thank you.
Lucy
Thank you, Carla. My projects are not the easiest ones to make, but when you send one of these cards to people, they will be impressed and they will smile.
I do appreciate that you took the time to write and let me know that you like this project.
Shelley
Your cards and houses are so cute. I want to make some.
Lucy
Thank you, Shelley.
Most of what I make is free on my PaperGlitterGlue.com website. When I participate in an online event, those projects are only available in the summit for awhile. Then I either post them on my blog or make them a part of a paid product.
I wrote a great Pop-Up card book - Playful Pop-Up Houses . It's full of great projects and ideas for House pop-up cards.
Thank you for your kind words.
