Here's how to make a Cricut Cutie house. It's the perfect home for your Cricut Cuties or any other small dolls - like LOL dolls, for example. I designed it for an online event - the Cricut Craftfest. You can get the free design in the Paper Glitter Glue library as Design No. 154.
Cricut Cutie Dollhouse Interior
For the interior, I used floral scrapbook paper as wallpaper. I love how colorful it is. The Cricut Cuties look like they are ready to play in this dollhouse.
Don't forget to check out the Leprechaun house tutorial. It's another free house you can make with your Cricut. The pattern is design no. 112 in the Paper Glitter Glue library.

2. Ungroup the design and select the score lines and attach to the appropriate piece
I use my Cricut Maker to cut out my projects. So after you upload the design to Cricut Design Space, the first thing to do is ungroup the design so you can select the score lines.
Each score line is grouped with the piece it belongs to. So select each score line, go to the operations menu and choose score. Then attach that score line to the piece it belongs to.
Be sure to attach the scored lines to piece it belongs to.
3. Cut out the pieces in either card stock or cardboard
I always like cardboard for dollhouses, but card stock works too. If you are going to use card stock to make the Cricut Cutie, choose heavier card stock such as 110# card stock.
4. To make wallpaper for your dollhouse, cut out the design for the main structure of the house in scrapbook paper
When you cut out wallpaper from scrapbook paper, do not designate the score lines. Just let your cutting machine cut them out so each piece will fit as a wallpaper. I show you how to do this in the video.
5. Optional - Prime and paint the house if using cardboard for house structure
Prime and paint your house if you cut it out in cardboard.
6. Fold along score lines
Fold along all the score lines before you assemble the house.
7. Apply the scrapbook wallpaper to the house structure
Before you assemble the house, apply the scrapbook wallpaper to the inside of the dollhouse.
8. Assemble the main house structure
To assemble the dollhouse together, glue the back piece, the open part of the dollhouse, to the main piece with the front and sides. It sounds a little confusing, but the YouTube video shows it clearly.
Here's a photo showing the how the roof tabs are glued to the back piece.
Do the same thing on the front.
9. Glue the floors in place
Once the glue on the main structure is dry, apply glue to the edges of the bottom floor piece and slide into place.
Insert the floor into place.
Next, apply glue to the edges of the attic floor and slide it in place in the house.
10. Glue shingles to roof piece
Before you glue the roof to the dollhouse structure, glue the shingles to the roof piece.
The easiest way to do this is to glue the shingle strips to the roof piece without worrying about cutting out the middle section. It is far easier to line up the shingles in this way.
Here's how the roof shingles look once applied to the roof piece.
Then once the glue is dry, just cut out the middle section on each side. On the front piece leave a little extra bit of the shingle edge to cover up any gaps from gluing the front dormer roof in place.
Draw a line for cutting the shingles on the front of the roof. Just this little extra bit of shingles helps for adhering the dormer roof in place.
This is how that little extra shingle looks. It really helps when you glue the dormer roof in place.
11. Glue roof to the main house structure
Once the shingles are dry, glue the roof to the dollhouse structure.
12. Adhere the front dormer roof to the main roof
It can be a little tricky to glue the front dormer roof to the main roof only because it is hard to hold it in place while the glue dries. This is one of the main places I use painter's tape to hold it while the glue dries.
This is how the front dormer fits on the roof. Remember that the angled edge of the dormer roof matches the angle of the dollhouse roof.
Apply glue to the angled edge of the dormer roof.
Also apply glue to the front edge of the dormer.
This bird's eye view shows how the dormer fits on the roof.
Painter's tape really helps hold the dormer roof onto the main roof.
When the glue is dry, your little dollhouse done.
You can see a small gap where I didn't glue the dormer roof down perfectly. It's not really noticeable in person.
13. Show off the house to your Cricut Cutie
Now it's time to pull out your Cricut Cuties or other tiny dolls and introduce them to their adorable little dollhouse.

Nicki
Hi Lucy. Where can I find the SVG files for the Cricut Cutie house? I don't see it in the Paper Glitter Glue library. It's such a cute house. Thanks!
Lucy
Nicki,
I think I did that one as a file for an event. I keep meaning to write a tutorial for it.
Please email me - Lucy AT paperglitterglue.com and I will send it to you.
And I am so glad you like it.
Lucy
Actually all I have to do is add the files since there is a brief outline of the directions already there. Let me check the files and then I will upload them.
Thank you for asking.
Sylvie
Hello Lucy,
I have had the privilege of meeting you for the first time at the Cricut Craftfest. I have totally enjoyed your workshop and LOVE your houses. I love how this is your passion and thank you for crafting and sharing with us.
Keep up the great work.
Lucy
Thank you so much, Sylvie. I do appreciate it so much. You know people ask me how I keep making little houses. They wonder if I would run out ideas or get tired of making little houses, but that hasn't happened at all. I keep thinking of more and more things I want to make. So I do appreciate your kind comment. Have fun here.

Karen
Thank you for these cute houses. I have made some putz (I think that is the right word) houses in the past and got some great ideas from your website. The smaller ones are easier, I think, and that is what I am interested in. Great video and ideas.
