What do you need to make these Fairy Houses?
Here is a list of materials that you can use to construct the Paper Fairy Houses.
Basic Materials for Constructing Fairy Houses
- Card stock - If using card stock, I prefer 110# card stock for the structure of the Fairy Houses, but 65# card stock works as well.
- Cardboard is my favorite material for making houses - 22 point cardboard works well.
- Watercolor paper takes stain and paint beautifully - makes great flowers
- Crepe paper for truly beautiful flowers
- Gesso primer for painting cardboard
- Acrylic paint for painting cardboard, card stock, and decorative elements
- Glue options - Quick Dry Tacky Glue or Bearly Art Glue
- Other options for the body of the house - oatmeal boxes, Pringles boxes, toilet paper rolls
Materials for Decorating the Fairy Houses
- Cheese boxes for bases
- Wood slices for fairy house bases
- Coffee stirrers for wood walls
- Paper clay
- Crepe paper is a great option for petals
- Heavy watercolor paper for flowers - takes paint well (if you want to paint your flowers rather than using card stock)
- Tiny seashells
- Moss
- Cotton mushrooms
- Peg dolls
- Other natural materials like small acorn caps, pine cone scales, rocks for pathways, twigs, dried leaves or flowers, just use your imagination

I'm in the middle of a huge project for my youngest daughter right now but once it's finished I'll be making most, if not all, of these gorgeous fairy houses! Such beautiful designs and I can't wait to get them made. My grands will love them. Thank you so very much for sharing them with us, Lucy and Jackie! You totally rock!
